"No brackets! No wires!"
Orthodontic treatment with transparent plates (orthodontics without braces) is a comfortable and innovative treatment that is an alternative to the classical orthodontic treatment with brackets, in which we can achieve the tooth movements we want with invisible and removable smart plates.
The photographs, x-rays and measurements taken in the first session are sent to the center where the plates will be prepared, and a 3D animation describing your treatment planning is prepared with these data. In the second session, with this animation, you can see the treatment process, how long the treatment will last, and the appearance of the teeth after the treatment, before even starting the treatment. If you give your approval, your records are being prepared.
Who is suitable for clear aligner treatment?
It can be used in young people and adults in many cases such as crooked teeth, gaps between teeth, crossbites, overturned teeth, deep bites, etc. In the planning made after the first session, it is determined whether you are suitable for treatment or not.
How long does the treatment take?
It is much shorter than braced orthodontic treatment. Your treatment time varies depending on the condition of your teeth and planning.
How often should I go for check-ups during the treatment process?
In orthodontic treatment with braces, a check-up must be made every 4-6 weeks and some adjustments must be made to the braces. In wireless orthodontic treatment, it is sufficient to go for a check-up only in case of IPR (interdental abrasion) or attachment of an attachment to a tooth.
How many hours a day should I wear the aligners?
It is very important for the treatment to be successful to have the plate worn for at least 22 hours a day. After each plate is worn for 2 weeks, the next plate is applied.
Are aligners comfortable?
Today, the most comfortable method of straightening teeth is transparent aligners. They are extremely easy to put on and take off, and can be easily cleaned. They do not cause speech disorders or irritate oral tissues.
Is it necessary to wear a retainer after treatment?
Teeth have a memory and their tendency to return to their previous positions continues for a long time. A reinforcement plate for 4-6 weeks after treatment, and then a night plate that you wear only at night for 4 weeks, is sufficient in most cases. However, we recommend wearing a fixed retainer for complete stability.
My brace treatment is currently continuing. Can I switch to wireless treatment?
Yes, you can pass. After your braces are removed, your treatment can be planned and continue where it left off with transparent plate procedures.
Can orthodontic treatment be done at any age?
Today, increasing aesthetic expectations and awareness about oral health have led to an increase in the demand for orthodontic treatment. Arranging the teeth in a smooth arch with orthodontic treatment is very important in terms of aesthetics as well as effective brushing of the teeth, correcting the bite and protecting the tissues surrounding the teeth.
Although there is no age limit for correcting crooked teeth, the bone and gum tissue surrounding the teeth must be healthy in order for treatment to be performed. However, sometimes the problem is not only about the teeth not being aligned properly, but also may result from developmental disorders of the lower jaw and upper jaw skeleton. Early diagnosis and treatment of problems involving the jaw skeleton helps to obtain better results.
In cases where the lower or upper jaw is positioned forward or backward than normal, if there are habits such as jaw stenosis, mouth breathing, thumb sucking, the child may need to be treated during the growth period. Although crookedness can be easily noticed by most people, problems related to the skeleton can sometimes be overlooked and treatment options decrease as age progresses. Surgical methods are required after growth is completed in order to perform some treatments that can be done at a young age with simple orthodontic treatments, and accordingly, the cost may increase. Therefore, it is very important for children to have regular dental examinations. Aesthetic orthodontic treatments are also available for patients who do not want to receive orthodontic treatment due to the negative image caused by braces in their work and private life in later ages. In this case, aesthetic porcelain brackets can be used instead of metal, or transparent plaques or lingual orthodontic treatment method can be preferred. However, since the treatment method to be applied will vary depending on the patient's age, the condition of the teeth and the severity of the problem, not every method may be suitable for every patient. For this, it is necessary to create a treatment plan with an orthodontic examination.
